History
Spare car for the 1996 British Touring Car Championship. It is believed that it was only ever used for testing and never raced. The debut race would come at the end-of-season RAC Tourist Trophy, where it was driven by Jo Winkelhock. Shipped to South Africa for the Rainbow Cup and driven by Winkelhock and Shaun van der Linde.
At the end of 1996, the car was sold to EKS Motorsport and used in the 1997 South East Asia Touring Car Zone Challenge and Macau Grand Prix. It's believed the car was the one driven by Charles Kwan, although this has not been confirmed.
It's history after that is a little unclear, although there are suggestions that at some point the car may have been seized by Customs officials.
In 2015 the car came up for sale at a auction in Thailand having been clearly stored outside and unused for many years. The car was eventually purchased by Dutch team Vink Motorsport.
