History
The first of the cars built by MCT for the 1993 British Touring Car Championship. Driven throughout the year by Tim Harvey, and most notably winning the European GP support race in the wet at Donington Park.At the end of the season chassis 2 and 3 would be sold to Harlow Motorsport for the 1994 BTCC. Nigel Albon would use chassis 3, with this car chassis 2 being used as a source of spare parts.
Over the following years the car was stripped down with the engine and running gear being transplanted into other projects, and the remains of the shell would pass through a number of hands.
In Apr 2015, the shell was acquired by MCT having been located in back of a Nottingham based Clio specialist. There then followed a prolonged search for parts to complete a rebuild - eventually an original Sadev gearbox, the only set of development-spec rear suspension and original wheels were located.
Over the next 5 years MCT, together with Leggero Forte and Prism Motorsport were able to restore the car with it finally turning a wheel at the Bicester Heritage track in Aug 2022.
