History
Believe to be one of the shells built as a static display car to support the 1994 British Touring Car Championship, and therefore never raced.

When the 850 Estate BTCC program ended it's rumoured the remaining cars that were not required by Volvo were to be destroyed. Somehow this car survived and remained in storage in the Dutch town of Mijdrecht for many years.

In 2010 the car was acquired by Jochen Pehtke and campaigned in the Supersport II division of the 2011 Dutch Supercar Challenge. The car now run with a 2.3 litre turbocharged engine, 5-speed manual transmission and more conventional running gear.
