Originally run by Valier Motorsport in the 1995 Belgian Procar for Marc Duez.

At the end of the season the car was purchased by BMW Australia, although it's believed that the car was not raced.

When the works team was eventually disbanded it remained the only car kept by BMW Australia. Under the care of Gibson Motorsport it was liveried as the 1997 Bathurst winner (E36 STC 96/008) and put on display in BMW Australia head office.

Sold to BMW d Stilwells in 2001, before being purchased by the Bowden family in 2015. In Sept 2016 the car was purchased by Peter Jones, before being sold to New Zealander Dr Steven Kelly in early 2019. Since 2020 Kelly has raced the car in the NZ Historic Touring Car Series.
