History
Used by Alain Menu in the latter part of the 1994 British Touring Car Championship, after his original race car (chassis 3) was destroyed in a testing accident.Following the 1994 FIA Touring Car World Cup, chassis 1, 2 & 4 were transferred to Williams Touring Car Engineering to aid with development of the 1995 cars.
Eventually sold to DC Cook as rolling shell for use as a demonstration/show car.
After much time in storage the car was brought by Michael Wilson in 2005, who planned to fit a Clio V6 engine and use it as a track-day car but was unable to finish the project and in Jan 2007 the car was sold to Peter Burchill.
Again the plans involve fitting a road-going engine and gearbox. Once rebuilt it was expected that Ewart Kitson will race it in CSSC Tintop or possibly LMA Eurosaloons.
In Jan 2009 the car was bought by Nick Hill, who intended to rebuild it back to original condition.
In Jan 2013 the car was purchased by MCT, the company who had originally built the car and ran the Renault Dealer Racing BTCC team. Three members of the original team who still work for MCT are intending to restore the car to a drivable state for demonstrations.
