Originally built in 1996 as a spare bodyshell and never raced, at the end of the season the car was sent to SportsPromotion in Sweden and put into storage.

In 1999 the car was completed using the running gear salvaged from the remains of chassis 850R 001.

In 2003 the car was sold to Norwegian buyer Svein Kristoffersen, and then some years later to Bengtson Autosalg.

In 2009 the car was purchased by Swedish car dealers Säljcenter, and remained on sale until 2012 when purchased by an Italian buyer
