Initial history is unknown. Believed to have been used by the BTCC team, although this has yet to be confirmed.

In 2000 the car was purchased by Richard Goddard of The Sports Partnership and left with Graham Hathaway Racing to prepare, however a change of plan meant that Goddard relocated to Guernsey and was unable to use the car. Graham Hathaway was asked to broker a deal to sell the car, eventually going to Greek racer Nikos Aggloupas along with HR018.

Aggloupas would run HR018 in the Greek Championship in 2002/03, and kept this car as a spare. Both cars would be largely unused for the next ten years, until 2014 when Graham Hathaway and Mick Ireland purchased both cars and returned them to the UK. In 2016, the car was rebuild to race-ready condition, and in 2019 the car was offered for sale.
